State of Georgia Department of Insurance Requirements
  • Licensees are required to complete 15 hours of continuing education annually, including 3 hours of ethics.
  • 10 Hours of c.e. are required every year if licensed for more than 20 years, including 3 hours of ethics.
  • CE is not required for a licensee's first renewal.
  • Limited subagents need only 5 hours of P/C courses. Ethics is NOT required.
  • Agent's renewal fees and continuing education must be submitted to GA State Dept. by November 1, BUT continuing education may be completed by December 31 with a $15 late renewal fee.
  • Licensees can carryover ½ of required hours. If 10 hours required, they can carryover 5 credits.
  • General courses may be repeated every 5 years. Ethics hours may be repeated every year or every other year.
  • Exams must be monitored by a disinterested third party.
  • Course provider is responsible for reporting course completion to the state.

    • Exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party
    • Proctor must be present during entire length of final exam
    • After completing and submitting exam online, a downloadable version of the Affidavit for Test Administrator form must be printed out from the computer which the exam was taken and signed by the proctor.

    • After Affidavit has been filled out and signed by proctor, please fax to 619-222-8593
    • Upon receipt of the Affidavit, you will be given access to print out the certificate of completion for the course that was succesfully completed.
